Screenshot taking is now built-in. You can snap one by pressing Volume down + Power. I think this will be a really hard thing to do in my Sony Ericsson Neo V when Android 4.0 update comes to it.

I am using Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread on my Sony Ericsson Neo V and Sony Ericsson have been kind enough to have this feature on 2.3 by just long pressing power button you get a option to take a screen shot.

Simply hold down the Volume Down button and Power button for about a second.

The screenshot will be saved in a folder /Pictures/Screenshots on your phones internal SD card.

Once it is captured you will get a notification in the pull down menu which will take you directly the screenshot in the Gallery.
